 REGULAR TREADMILL TEST :
This video is from Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute. The purpose of this test is to see if the heart receives proper circulation. This video clearly explains what are all the precautions to be taken while doing treadmill test (Video quality: clear)

Step by Step Procedure: 1. Heart rate and bp are taken when at rest.
2. Electrodes are attached to chest,hips,shoulders and connected to the machine.
3. EKG(Electro Kardio Gram) or ECG is recorded on the paper.
Movement of treadmill: The treadmill is then started at a relatively slow  speed. It's slope or inclination are increased every three minutes .  The patient's blood pressure is  recorded at regular intervals.

Preparation for any stress treadmill test:



1. Should not eat or drink for three hours before the test. Diabetic patients need specific instructions from the doctor in this regard.
2. You may have to stop some of the heart medicines one or two days prior to the stress test as per doctors advice.
3. Patients should wear comfortable clothes and shoes during test.

4. The entire test may take about one hour.

Some other names of Treadmill Stress Tests are: Exercise ECG,Exercise  EKG - exercise treadmill, Exercise electrocardiography.

 Who should take Treadmill Stress Test?
